Self Emotional Help and Self Emotional Therapy

Here’s a guide to self emotional help and self emotional therapy. Some people rely on emotional therapy specialists to work through their emotions because no one taught us how to develop emotional awareness, emotional literacy or understand the emotional messages and emotional meaning behind each emotion.

Below you will find 10 categories of emotions, under which other “sub-emotions” are grouped. And instead of just calling them emotions, we’ll call them “Emotional Signals”. The reason we do that is because in order to begin to create a shift in your emotional state, you must first create a shift or transformation in the way you perceive emotions. And rather than just perceiving emotions to be emotions, it is far better and more empowering to view emotions as “signals” – signals that you get, telling you that you need to do something, deal with something or change something in your life now instead of waiting till it gets to late or unbearable.

The way to use this list of emotional categories and signals is, every time you feel an emotion, you first identify which emotional category it falls under. Then, you clarity what the emotional message is or put another way, what the emotion is “signaling”  you do to. By taking action towards a desired result, you will naturally get out of the “stuck” emotional state you are in and get into a more empowering emotional state.

Here is the list of emotional categories, each category having an emotional meaning or emotional message for you:

1) Emotional Category: Uncomfortable

  • These are any emotions like boredom, impatience, uneasiness, mild distress, mild embarrassment, etc.
  • Basically this emotional category represents any emotion that is bugging or bothering you in some way but at the same time is not so intense.
